HOUSEHOLD TRASH GUIDELINES
REAR LOAD PICK UP


Any waste material in process of or subject to decomposition or decay incident to ordinary domestic use or purpose. All miscellaneous materials such as rags, leather goods, cartons, rubber, broken glass, crockery or any similar materials or substances, but not concrete, firewood, sod, logs, earth, sand, bricks, mortar, railroad ties or other substances which may accumulate from building or demolition operations.


(A) RECEPTACLES

  1. All receptacles must be set by the occupant at the front curbline after 4PM the day before and by 6AM the day of your scheduled pick up.
  2. All receptacles must have the capacity of not less than 10 (ten) or more than 35 (thirty-five) gallons.
  3. The occupant shall keep all receptacles clean and in proper condition for safe handling.

(B) PREPARATION FOR PICK UP

  1. All receptacles shall be labeled and placed neatly at the front curbline.
  2. All garbage shall be thoroughly and completely drained of all liquids.
  3. All receptacles, bundles, bags shall be of size to permit ease of handling by one man and shall not, in any case, weigh more than 50 pounds or exceed 48 inches.
  4. Items such as furniture, mattresses, carpet etc. go out on your scheduled trash day.

(C) PROHIBITED PRACTICES

  1. Place or store any materials in a parcel, wooden keg or barrel, basket, drum or any type of container whatsoever other than the type of receptacle herein specified.
  2. Place for collection, any explosive to include but not limited to ammunition, flares, fireworks and the like. Call the Voorhees Township Police Department for disposal.
  3. Place for collection, any medical waste unless properly secured. Hypodermic needles must be placed in a secured metal container.
