Dear Friends,

Once again, summertime offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The Voorhees Township Committee is pleased to welcome the summer of 2009 with our annual "Summer Twilight Series," with five events scheduled for the "Great Lawn" at Connolly Park. This year Voorhees Township presents "The Legends of Rock" in a four show series that features music from four rock and roll legends.

The first show is Thursday, June 25, and will feature Bruce in the USA, the world's #1 tribute to Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. This high energy musical experience is a note perfect and visually active recreation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band show. Clarence Clemens, who joined the tribute band for a set in New York recently, claimed it was the greatest tribute he's ever seen.

The tradition continues with back-to-back concerts. On Thursday, July 30, a group of young talented musicians will provide a tribute to Dave Matthews. This cover band recreates the dynamic stylings of the popular artist. The next night, Friday, July 31, Voorhees Township welcomes for the first time to our Summer Twilight Series stage, the band "Hot Rocks," a world class tribute to the Rolling Stones.

The "Legends of Rock" theme continues on Friday, August 28, with Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles. This concert presents an exciting showcase of mega-hits such as "Take it Easy," "Heartache Tonight," and "Hotel California." This timeless music is appealing to every audience, recalling memories and touching the hearts of every generation.

The Summer Twilight Series concludes with the Township's annual Movie Night in the Park on Saturday, September 26. (Rain date of Saturday October 3.) The students in the Voorhees Schools will vote on their favorite movie to be shown on the "big screen."

The Township's "Summer Twilight Series" provides free fun for all ages. All events are at Connolly Park on Centennial Blvd. with plenty of free parking. The Series is made possible due the generosity of our sponsors: The Mall at Voorhees Town Center, Cornerstone Bank, Summerville Assisted Living, Di Meglio Construction, The Hampton Inn, My Community Trend and The Voorhees Sun. Please thank these sponsors by supporting their businesses.

Come out with your chairs, blankets or just sit on the "great lawn" and enjoy all the shows.

All shows are FREE and will start @ 7:30PM.
