Mayors Column

Last year, after a long hiatus, Santa resumed visiting our town on a fire truck. The tradition will continue this year.

On Friday, Nov. 30 between 6p.m. and 9 p.m., Santa will be visiting Kirkwood, Osage, Old Ashland, Greenridge, Ashland Terrace, Rainwood, Christopher Tract, Willow Oaks, Hearth Stone, Avian, Partridge Run, Cherry Brook Farms, Main Street Colony and Kress Acres.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Santa will ride through Carriagebrooke Farm, Kirkwood, Rygate, La Bonne Vie, Echelon Condominiums, Foster Square/Town Center, Three Ponds, Franklin Square, the Mews Condominiums, Acorn Hill, Lost Tree, Main Street Estates, Beagle Club, Alluvium Woods and Wilderness Lakes.

On Friday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., look for Santa in Turnbridge, Ashland Terrace, Woodcrest Acres, Staffordshire Farms, Stafford Estates, Echelon, Staffords Wold, Sturbridge Lakes, Lake Villa, High Point, Sturbridge Woods, Huntington Ridge, Woodbrook, the Reserves, Fairway Estates and Telle Verde.

Saturday Dec. 8 from 3 p.m. 8 p.m. will be Santa’s last ride with the Fire Department before he heads back to the North Pole. He will visit Echelon, Traditions, Centennial Mill, Acorn Hill, Lost Tree, Ridgeview, Alluvium, Alluvium Woods, Alluvium Lakes, Lake Villa, Lafayette Glenn, West Berlin, Braddock’s Woods, Devonshire and Elm Tree.

Santa will be back in Voorhees on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Kirkwood Fire Station Headquarters located at 2002 S. Burnt Mill Rd to meet with children and enjoy some cookies. This free event will begin at noon and will end at 4 p.m.

**The Voorhees Town Center Santa Arrival and Tree Lighting will be on Nov. 16 starting at 6:30 p.m. The annual 36-foot holiday tree lighting will follow Santa’s arrival. Visit Santa from Nov. 17 through Christmas Eve, during Mall hours. Bring your pets and have their photos taken with Santa every Monday evening at 6 p.m.  For more information visit www.voorheestowncenter.com.

**Learn watercolor painting with artist Ann May Kelly at the Voorhees Arts Center & Gallery located in the Voorhees Town Center. Classes are 11a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday through Nov. 9.
