Mayor’s Column

Warm weather offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The Voorhees Township Committee is pleased to welcome the summer of 2019 and our 16th Annual Summer Twilight Series to be held on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park. We are excited to present another fun-filled summer of free entertainment.

The first show is Thursday, June 20, and will feature Asbury Fever Band, recreating the popular Jersey shore sounds of the 70’s and 80’s. The band includes a three-piece horn section and covers such artists as Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Bon Jovi and Little Steven. Asbury Fever Band captures the intensity of these legendary Jersey artists.

The second show is July 25 and will feature Satisfaction/ The International Rolling Stones Tribute Show. This band is entering its 18th year showcasing the most authentic cast and costuming of its kind. They bring a colorful performance to over 50 years of classic hits honoring the Rolling Stones and their legacy.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, we welcome Beatlemania Now, the premier Beatles tribute band. This mind-blowing performance takes you back in time with the legendary foursome delivering a note-for-note theatrical event that is the next best thing to seeing the Beatles. The band recaptures the excitement, the mood and the frantic intensity which evoke memories of the  60’s and 70’s.

The Township’s Summer Twilight Series provides fun for all ages. The shows are free and start at 7:30 p.m. on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park. The “Beer Garden” and food trucks will open at 6:30 p.m.  There is also plenty of free parking.

The Summer Twilight Series is made possible due to the generosity of our sponsors: Republic Bank, Hardenbergh Insurance, Iron Hill Brewery, DiMeglio Construction, Kennedy Health and The Voorhees Sun. Please thank these sponsors by supporting their businesses.
