REOPENING OF TOWNSHIP PARKS
Under Executive Order 133, Governor Murphy opened all state parks and forests to the public to engage in specific recreational activities in which social distancing can be readily achieved.
The Order also allows the Township to open Township parks under certain conditions. As such, effective Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 6:00 a.m., Voorhees Township Parks are hereby reopened under the following guidelines:
- The following areas will remain closed to the public at all Township Parks: Small and Large Dog Run areas; Picnic areas; Playgrounds; Exercise stations and equipment; Swimming; Pavilions; Restrooms; and Other buildings or facilities on the premises.
- The following policies will be implemented at all Township Parks: Employees and visitors must wear cloth face coverings while in the Township Parks in all settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, except where doing so would inhibit that individual’s health or where the individual is under two years of age;
a. Available parking will be limited at all Township Parks at 50% of the maximum capacity at one time, and visitors will be prohibited from parking in undesignated areas, including in roadways and other undesignated areas;
b. No picnicking will be allowed, including on picnic blankets in signed picnic areas, and no picnic blankets, chairs, coolers, and other such personal property will be carried into any Township Park;
c. Consistent with Paragraph 3 of Executive Order No. 107 (2020), visitors must practice social distancing and stay six feet apart whenever practicable, excluding immediate family members, caretakers, household members, or romantic partners;
d. No organized or contact activities or sports will be allowed;
e. Consistent with Paragraph 5 of Executive Order No. 107 (2020), gatherings of individuals, including in parks, are prohibited.
- The Stafford Woods Disc Golf course will remain closed at this time.
The Township will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and take action as deemed appropriate and in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders.
