Mayor’s Column

As we continue to navigate through this challenging time, the availability of COVID testing is of utmost importance.

New Jersey is partnering with Vault Medical Services to deliver free COVID tests to New Jersey homes. Residents can request a kit online which will be shipped through UPS with next day delivery. An Ewald Healthcare professional will assist with the test via zoom. The test itself can take between 10 to 15 minutes. The completed test is mailed back in a prepaid package with UPS next day delivery. Visit learn.vauthealth.com/NJ to order a test and get more information about this new service.

COVID testing is also available in the Voorhees Town Center parking lot adjacent to Somerdale Road. This testing is done in your car. Go to the website testhere.com, click on the location, Voorhees Town Center, and scroll through the available appointments. Some basic questions are asked regarding COVID exposure and insurance information.

Last week, the Biden Administration mandated that all group health plans must cover over-the-counter COVID tests. The mandate declares that there will be no member cost share or co-pays when purchasing an over-the-counter test. Health plans must cover eight individual at home COVID tests per person per month. A family of five can get 40 free tests per month. For more information, visit cms.gov/how-to-get-your-at-home-OTC-COVID-19-test-for-free.

In addition, every home in the U.S. is now eligible to order free at home COVID tests and orders will usually ship within 7 to 12 days. Follow this link, covidtests.gov/  to place your order for at home rapid COVID tests.
