Summer Concert Series and “Live Jazz” Night

Summer will soon arrive with the opportunity to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The Voorhees Township Committee looks forward to the summer of 2023 and our 19th Annual Summer Concert Series to be held on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park. We are excited to present another fun-filled summer of free entertainment.

The first show is on Thursday, June 15 and will feature “Shaman,” the Ultimate Santana Tribute Band. Carlos Santana describes his music as “the universal tone.” He is a master of creating a fusion of Rock, Blues, Jazz, Salsa and Reggae, and that is the band’s distinctive sound.  The members of the Shaman Tribute Band have been in the music industry since the late 60’s.  Enjoy the most authentic versions of the Santana music catalog.

The second show is on Thursday, July 20 at 7:30pm, featuring singer/songwriter/recording artist Anthony Liguori, Jr.  and his Tribute to Elvis Presley, “The Legend Lives.”  Anthony has performed with Jerry Foster, Clint Black, Patti Loveless, Shenandoah, Mark Collie, Bill Anderson, Hank Snow, Johnny Mathis, Eddie Fisher, the Marshal Tucker band and countless others in the pop, rock, country and gospel fields. He was inducted into Alabama Country Music Hall of Fame, named Lost Gold Records Male Vocalist of the Year, Indie Country Artist of the Year and Lost Gold Records’ Recording Artist of the Year.

On Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7:30pm,Asbury Fever” will present a Bruce Springsteen Tribute. Since 2002, “Asbury Fever” has been rocking bars, outdoor concerts, casinos, private parties, and corporate events in the NJ Tri-State area with the legendary sounds of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes and many other great classic rock acts.

Free crafts for kids will be available under the gazebo from the Voorhees Art Commission.

We wrap up our summer concert series with yet another new and exciting event.  On Friday, Sept. 29 at 6:30pm, we will host “Live Jazz” Night at the Town Center outdoor square in front of Town Hall.  We welcome the New Trio, Budesa Brothers and drummer, Jerry Tanenbaum. The breadth and depth of the Budesa Brothers experience is both broad and unique.  They are as versatile and talented as they come.  Drummer Jerry Tanenbaum is an in-demand jazz drummer in the Philadelphia music scene and is frequently performing in musical theatre shows throughout the tri-state area.  He is also the timpanist in the Philharmonic of Southern Jersey which performs right here in Voorhees at Eastern High School.

The Summer Concert Series and “Live Jazz” Night are made possible due to the generosity of our sponsors: Republic Bank, Conner Strong & Buckelew, Bowman and Company, the Jewish Community Foundation, Environmental Resolutions, Samaritan Healthcare, CME Associates, Patient First, SJRA, Atlantic City Electric., DiMeglio Construction Co., TD Bank, the Ravitz family, Patient First, Comcast, Jefferson Kennedy Hospital and the Voorhees Business Association. Please thank these sponsors by supporting their businesses.

These shows will be even more enjoyable with a “Beer Garden” and a variety of food trucks that will open at 6:30pm. There is also plenty of free parking at both venues.
