Vehicle Crime Prevention

Mayor Mignogna
To help keep your vehicles safe and secure, please follow some of the Voorhees Township Police Department’s guidelines.
• Adopt the 9:00 PM Routine: Make it a habit to lock your car doors and close all windows by 9:00 PM each night. This small step can significantly reduce the risk of theft.
• Keep Valuables Out of Sight: Ensure that no valuables are left inside your vehicle, as this can deter potential thieves and keep your belongings safe.
• Invest in a Steering Wheel Lock: Using a locking device mounted on your steering wheel can serve as an effective deterrent, making it much harder for intruders to drive away with your car.
• Secure Your Keys Properly: Always remove your keys from the ignition when leaving your vehicle unattended. Keep your garage door opener out of the car to prevent intruders from easily accessing your home.
• Protect Your Tires: Since car tires are often targeted, consider installing a wheel lock system to make it more challenging for anyone to remove your tires and rims.
• Stay Vigilant: If you notice any suspicious activity, call 911 and call the non-emergency police line at 856-428-5400 to report a theft has already occurred. Your awareness can play a vital role in preventing crime in your area.
By implementing these proactive measures, you can help contribute to a safer environment for yourself and your community.
