The Voorhees Township Public Works Department is aware of reports regarding deceased geese in the area. Residents are encouraged to report instances of sick or deceased birds, particularly when found in groups of five or more, using the Wild Bird Disease Reporting Form accessible at https://dep.nj.gov/njfw/highly-pathogenic-avian-influenza/
If it becomes necessary to move any deceased birds, individuals are advised to refrain from direct contact with bare hands and use gloves, double-bag the birds, and dispose of them in the trash. It is also recommended to keep pets away from all geese and their feces. Furthermore, residents may reach out to Public Works at 856-428-5499 to arrange for the collection and disposal of deceased geese once the snowstorm subsides.
