For over 20 years, the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has been committed to serving our town, the South Jersey region and the world. Its members meet weekly on Thursday mornings to plan projects and activities that help meet community needs and solve problems.
Rotary International is the oldest charitable service organization in the world and addresses such issues as hunger and child mortality. There are more than 1.2 million Rotarians all over the world with more than 35,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries. The Rotary Foundation is one of the world’s largest and has consistently had one of the highest ratings in Charity Navigator. Since the 1980’s, the Foundation and volunteers worldwide have spearheaded the effort to eradicate polio.
In partnership with Hope Church and the Cathedral Kitchen, Voorhees Rotarians are helping meet the needs of those in our area in need of food. Members regularly prepare meals for hospitalized children and their families at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden. In our grade schools, they purchase and organize the delivery of healthy snacks, so our children’s learning is not impaired. They support the efforts of the “Josh the Otter Water Safety Project” to help prevent child drownings, one of the leading causes of death among youngsters.
The Club’s members come from all walks of life and range in age from 39 to 93. They are a diverse, energetic and fun group. The members include two past Rotary District Governors and two current Assistant Governors, helping to lead the Rotary District (7505), which covers southern and most of central New Jersey. The club meets every Thursday at 7:30 AM, alternating between online Zoom meetings and in-person meetings at the Stratford Diner at 19 S. White Horse Pike.

** Voorhees Township is hosting a Property Tax Relief Filing event on Thursday, August 13, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Lions Lake Community Center. Those receiving Social Security Disability benefits are invited to meet with a tax division representative for assistance with filing their application for the Senior Freeze, Anchor and Stay NJ Programs. This filing session will focus on the blue 2025 Form PAS-1 booklet you received in the mail. Please bring the following items: Photo ID, Social Security number, Income documentation, and property tax totals billed for both 2024 and 2025. No appointments are necessary; this is a first-come, first-served event, and you do not need to be a Voorhees resident. ** Our Summer Concert Series continues Thursday, August 20, with a performance by “The FM Band.” Known for their crowd-pleasing mix of classic rock favorites, nostalgic throwbacks, and today’s biggest hits, “The FM Band” brings high-energy entertainment for all ages. Their versatile repertoire and engaging stage presence have made them a favorite throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia music scene.
** Summer hours for the Voorhees Town Hall will be in effect until Tuesday, September 8. The Township offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5:30 PM and will be closed on Fridays.
