Voorhees Theatre

The Voorhees Theatre Company (VTC) is a non-profit community theatre based at the Voorhees Middle School Theater.  The mission of the VTC is to offer performance and educational opportunities to artists on stage and behind the scenes and to bring audiences professional-caliber performances within and beyond the walls of the theater.  VTC is well known for educating and nurturing young performers and for offering performance and theatre opportunities to local artists of all ages. VTC offers a safe harbor to all participants who want to explore the arts.

The Voorhees Theatre Company (VTC) will present the feel-good family musical Seussical at the Raymond J. Brosel Performing Arts Center at the Voorhees Middle School.  One of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a magical musical extravaganza! The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

Fun for the whole family, Seussical features performers of all ages from South Jersey and beyond. 

Seussical performances will be on Oct. 27 at 7:30 pm; Oct. 28 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm; and Oct. 29 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $18and are available at www.voorheestheatre.org.  For information about group sales, call 856-206-3554. Voorhees Middle School is located at 1000 Holly Oak Drive.

Each year, VTC offers a summer theatre program for children in grades 3 to 8, a summer musical theatre production for ages 14 and up, and a fall musical production for all ages. To learn more, visit www.voorheestheatre.org

** The Voorhees Basketball Association Winter Recreation League registration is in full swing and ends Oct. 20.  After this date, registration is based upon availability and a $25 late fee will be assessed.  For more information, contact John Conners at jconners@janney.com

** The Voorhees Police Department is working with the Camden County Partnership for Children on a 2023 Winter Coat Drive.  Donations (gently used coats, hats and gloves) will be collected in the Police Station Lobby at 1180 White Horse Road until Dec. 1.  For more information, contact Lt. ** The Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation will hold its 21stAnnual Birthday Bash on Friday, Oct. 20 from 6:30-10:30pm at Lucien’s Manor in Berlin.  As always, this fundraiser is for the noble mission of supporting hospitalized teens.  It is always an epic night of music, dancing, great food, cocktails and memories of Alicia.  For more information and to buy tickets/sponsorships, visit victoriousfoundation.org

** The Voorhees Township Annual Halloween & Fall Festival will be on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 1pm to 4pm at the Voorhees Town Center in the area in front of Town Hall.  Activities will include a Halloween costume parade, pumpkin painting and decorating, a petting zoo, children rides, face painting, and our own DJ Sean Moore Haki Redd. The Voorhees Township Police Department and Fire Department will be on hand providing Halloween safety tips. New this year is Dooney’s Pub Garden offering adult beverages and a Halloween decorated Luscious Liqueur Mobile Bar offering child friendly non-alcoholic Halloween themed mock-tails. Another new addition is a couple of Cottage Food Operators offering home baked cookies and other pastries.
