National Night Out

The Voorhees Township Police Department is hosting its Annual
National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Voorhees Town Center.

Take the opportunity to meet and interact with our local police officers, K-9 units and first responders. As always, it is free with plenty of activities, including police vehicles, drone displays, food trucks, a petting zoo, bounce houses, games, food and more. There will also be a K-9 demonstration.

The evening’s activities are sponsored by the Girl Scouts, SERVPRO, Target, Mackenzie Martial Arts, the Voorhees Art Commission, Volunteers of America, ADT Alarm Company, the Flyers Training Center, the Voorhees Fire Department and theVoorhees Citizens Event Foundation. We thank them for their generosity.

National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that started in 1984 and promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, striving to make our neighborhoods a safer and better place in which to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while encouraging a sense of community and providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together.

Citizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, youth organizations and local, state, and federal officials take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide.

The best way to prevent crime is to know your neighbors andyour surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own communities.

For more information, contact Officer Eric Camm at ecamm@vtpd.com.  If you’re interested in volunteering, please email media@vtpd.com.Take the opportunity to meet with police officers, K-9 units, firefighters, EMT’s, drug and alcohol educators, domestic violence advocates and numerous other public service providers.
