Motor Oil
Voorhees Township residents may drop off their used motor oil at 100 American Way, Voorhees, NJ. The drop-off location is located at the dead end of the street. A sign stating “PUBLIC WORKS RECYCLING DROPOFF LOCATION” is located at the site. VOORHEES RESIDENTS ONLY!!
* Used motor oil that is collected by residents must be recycled. The next time you change your own oil, remember you can make a difference by recycling the oil from your car, truck, motorcycle, boat, recreational vehicles or lawnmower.
Be sure to store your used motor oil in a container that will not leak. Many people use milk jugs with a secure cap. Do not mix other substances such as antifreeze or transmission fluid with the used oil.
STORE THE OIL AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND SOURCES OF IGNITION.
PLEASE NOTE: 55-GALLON OIL DRUMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!!
OUR PROPERTY IS UNDER VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AND TAPES REVEALING UNLAWFUL DROP OFFS WILL BE TURNED OVER TO THE VOORHEES POLICE FOR INVESTIGATION. DROP OFF IS AVAILABLE ANY TIME.
Rechargeable Batteries
Voorhees Township residents may drop off their rechargeable batteries at 100 American Way, Voorhees, NJ.
Rechargeable batteries can be found in cordless power tools, cellular and cordless phones, laptop computers, digital cameras, two-way radios, camcorders, and remote control toys. Rechargeable batteries sometimes look like regular alkaline batteries. The label on the battery will indicate if it is rechargeable. If it says “Alkaline”, dispose of it in the regular trash.
What about button cell batteries?
Most button cell batteries still contain mercury. These batteries should be brought to your County’s Household Special Waste collection. Please visit www.camdencounty.com or call (856) 858 – 5241 for a list of collection events.
